Samurai Shopper | If the Gloss Sticks ...
This week Andy Warhol would have been 83 years old. As an artist who immortalized mass-produced commercial products, Warhol ruffled the feathers of the fine art establishment with his cheerfully banal connoisseurship. Gore Vidal once said Warhol was a genius with the IQ of a moron. In that, Warhol reminds me of the reclusive simpleton Chauncey Gardener, the character in Jerzy Kosinski’s “Being There” lauded for uttering Zen-like nuggets of wisdom when, in fact, like the quotable Warhol, he was a mere precursor to Forrest Gump.
Can stupid people get rich? The Samurai Shopper remains mum on that point, believing that Warhol was right: “Art is what you can get away with.” At least in America. And Warhol had another arguably brilliant apothegm: “Everything in your closet should have an expiration date on it the way milk and newspapers do.”
MAKE UP FOR EVER Glossy Full Couleur Collection ($60 Value) Glossy ...
If you’ve been looking at purchasing the make up for ever lipglosses then this would be the time to try them out. normally, they cost $18 for just one…but getting three for $35 is a much better deal. It comes out to about $11.66 a gloss, cheaper than MAC lipglosses. Moving on, the colors are pigmented and will intensify the color of lipstick and lipliner if applied on top.
The shades, a coral pink, a hot pink, and a red, have no shimmer or glitter. They have no sticky feeling to the lips, it comes with a minty smell, and adds a subtle shine to lips. I had my eye on this collection for about a year, i’m happy I bought it now.
