DIY Beauty: How to do your own wedding makeup

In all the frenzy of wedding planning (finding the dress, tasting the food, sending the invites, etc etc) one thing I shunted off was worrying about my makeup. My daily makeup routine is pretty low maintenance -- in fact, I usually do it on the subway. Yes, I'm that girl. I don't even have a lid for my foundation anymore because it slipped out of my hand and fell on the train tracks a few months ago... Awkward.

For my wedding day I definitely want to step things up a notch, but I was scared of hiring a make-up artist and ending up looking like a drag queen. Everyone has told me, make sure you look like yourself at your wedding - you want your groom to recognize the girl he proposed to.
